As requested, less saturation in the front, more in the back.  It took too layers.  Layer one I added the color with a mask.  I saved the mask and opened a PS mask, alt click onto it and pasted my cm mask (inverted).  then Cm with less color.

It looks good...Did you play around with opening the shadows any further??
