Here are my attempts at this exercise. I think I like the one using the highlight pointmore. I think it has more contrast.

Both of these are in pretty good shape...There is actually a lot more color in the image.  Did you see the green color showing up in the water??

Try this lightness curve to bring out some detail under the surface.Then hit it with some smart sharpen set to:amount 20,radius20.0.GregM
