Boy, the possibilities are endless with these masks! I sent in my crash report from earlier in this process, but have now successfully applied an inverted mask to a background copy, to which I added another mask in PS for some selective painting. I then tried making another background copy to apply another CM mask for the same process. This I did successfully, but saw no changes in the layer after returning to PS. So I flattened the layers, and made another background copy and opened in CM to try again. The effect was perfect, brought it back into PS but it doesn't show up there.
So, in brief, my CM adjustment doesn't show up on my background copy of a flattened (and previously CM adjusted) PS file.
It should, shouldn't it? I sometimes think I'm expecting too much. This software is awesome!

Mask on a background copy
Hmmm - I'll see if I can duplicate this one from your description. Basically it seems to fail in some situations where there are three layers total, perhaps with the middle one being masked in Photoshop?
I did make some changes that involved masking a background layer, but it was to fix a crash, so the behavior you are describing is probably still there. If works now in beta .15, please let me know.

Well, whatever you did, it works fine now. Yesterday I could not make an adjustment (from a mask) on a PS background copy and have it show up on PS IF there was already a background copy that had been altered in CM. Flattened or not.
I also had a PS mask on the layer if that would have made a difference, but today it all works.
My dishwasher, however, is on the blink. hmmm.

Gloria...
I was able to replicate your Dishwasher crash and I have a work around..
1) Fill the left sink with Hot and soapy water.
2) Place dirty dishes in the water and use a dishrag to clean them.
3) Rinse the clean soapy dishes in clean water running gently in to the right sink.
4) Using a clean towel wipe the excess water from the clean dish and store it in your cupboard for later use.
This should get you through the dishwasher crash until such time as Mike can write the DW script that will connect your Dishwasher to the CM plug-in...Be patient he is kinda busy right now....
