Used lab, and did what I thought was appropriate, a touch of usm.
I don't understand how to do the 2 passes that you suggest in the instructions. The first i did, but the RGB is what i dont get????

Generally what we are talking about with two passes is to make as much out of the image in LAB as you can...Close the image and save the changes.  Then re-open the CM tool in RGB and finish it off. 

This is an image with multiple problems and there are many possible workflows.  Usually you can get it all into the single pass but when you need to switch color spaces you have to close the image in CM and re-open it in another color space using CM.
