Hi Art,

I think, your white feathers are more neutral.
This would be mabe the compromise with just the neutral point for correction.
More yellow in the duck or some blue in the feathers.
Same as magenta/green.

What do you think? Are we ready with the duck?

Tanja,
Try using the saturation slider on your duck when you are at this point in LAB.  If you have it neutral the image will take a large saturation adjustment without a color cast showing up.  The white feathers are very sensitive to color shifts.  You might find that you like the color saturated a bit more in LAB.

You are quite close in lab.  Think for 1 second...

If you are too green in lab you have to move the zero point.  There are 2 ways you can do this.
1) you can pin the curve as I did in the corvette video OR...

2) You can move the green endpoint.  Each can do the job. 

See what you can do but but keep it simple.

thinking needs more than 1 second  ;)
When I use that pin grid, like you in the car-video, I fix the zeropoint.
Moving the cuve with fixed zero in the green side, brings all green out, exept the color cast in the duck. Because to close to zero, right?
Moving the zero point - by selecting or move the green end -, brings green out of the ducks darker feather, but more magenta in the whithe ones.
Only solution I found is using a mask.

One big problem in moving the lab zero point by using a mask: My hue clock isn't changing.
Easyer to show on an extreme example on a picture. What went wrong?

Hi Greg,

Because I also produced a green duck in the LABoratory, I explored the suggestions you posted for Tanja on my aquatic creation. I encountered the same problems that Tanja did  -- moving either the zero point or the end point corrected the colour in the duck's feathers, but produced a magenta cast throughout the image (as shown in the attached screenshot after moving the zero point).

OK Tanja...too far...

Here is the correction I was thinking about using you image posted above.
I will also load my .ACV file for you to load up on your PC.

Download the ACV file to your desktop and then download the image you have posted above unless you have it saved in that state on your hard drive.
Open the image and then open CM.  Choose "Load" and then select the ACV file from your desktop.  This will apply my curves to your image.

Zoom into the A and B channels and look at the slight adjustments made...you adjusted way too far for the problem you had.  I found more Cyan than Green by the way...
