I'm having to reduce the jpg quality to 4 to get these small enough to post.  Is that normal?

You can reduce the size as well.  I try to give you as many pixels as possible to work with.
Interesting look.  how did you do it??

I used the CM Wizard to correct the colors in LAB, looking at the Hue clock for the green leaves.  Then I used PSCC to adjust the shadows and highlights (maybe too much?) and added lots of clarity to add local contrast for a Pop.

here is my attempt
I did most of it in curvemeister
firstly went into channels to have a look  - slight adjustment
RGB BTN next
hard to do as no idea of what colours you were looking at
used my knowledge of colours here as sometimes the images you take are very similar
Decided blue rocks had to go and yellower water is ok - we have plants here that stain the water a tea coloured brown
tried to adjust for more depth in the highlights in the water
used a mask and then the overexposed library and adjusted blur and fade till I liked it
went into lab and boosted colour and contrast a little
used shadow/highlights to slightly lighten darker areas but liked the look of the dark shadows in contrast to the sun flooded plants so didn't do too much

Too much is a matter of taste..but yea..maybe too much...LOL.

I like the quality of the water but it is a bit too unreal for my taste.
Maybe make the shadow highlights adjustment in a layer and adjust the opacity down to real...

Good call the water is a medium brownish color.  The tone is slight overall but the Brown is real.
overall it might be a bit yellow but it's hard to tell on the laptop I have with me at the present time.
I'll take a look with hue clocks later tonight.
