Hm, strange. I choose the k-channel mask in cm and work on it, get attachment 1.
Because I want to paint on this mask, I copy it in cm and paste it as a mask in ps.
But I get a totally different mask (attachment 2)
Try to create an own mask by converting a dublication of the picture to cmyk with a 100% GCR profile and get the same mask like I see in curvemeister.
My normal settings are the US Swop Profile, but even with this I don't get this wrong mask as on attachment 2.
What happens there?
darken sky - problem

Hi Art,
yes, I'm using the k-channel and modify hardly + a blur for better edges.
But I create in ps, because of the strange copy problem.
In cm it's not possible to paint out the rest of white in the mask, which is not sky.
After this I apply the red channel to the whole image and get only the darker sky, because of the mask.
Next step was Dan Margulis "Bigger Hammer", which you sadly not able to use in elements.
For this picture, I think it works fine. When there is enough time the next days, I want to find out what it does exactly and maybe there is a way in elements too. I had something different in mind, thought it was a false profile with k-channel. Somewhere here is something saved over this method. Hope I find it ;)
Rest is normal cm workflow. Color correction in rgb and color push in lab.
And the wonderful new sharpening from the ppw-channel.
Greetings, Tanja
