I think that the luminosity and saturation of this version are pretty much dead on - you've captured the feeling of dusk really well. I overlaid the color from my version over the top of yours, expecting that I'd prefer the color in my version - very instructive (my color is way off base)...

I like the color of the sky in yours, and the wood near to the woman sitting down looks fantastic.

It was the Blue channel that made this happen. Take a look at the green and the blue channels. If you set zone system pins on the blue channel it is way better than the Green for the luminosity stuff.

I was quite surprised.

If all you wanted to do was to lighten the picture to reveal more detail, then all I did here was to use the Shadow/Highlight filter in Photoshop (at it's default settings).

Thanks for the corrections. This started as an exercise. I will print this special.

BTW- the exif shows an iso 1600 at 1/50 and f 4.0 (max for the lens). In other words, at the edge.
