First, RGB master curve and rgb settings.
Second attempt, LAB curves. I might have added a shadow highlights.
Btw- last week was a tough week. I "skipped" week 1. I will do a few of that week later. I thought it better to stay up.

Hey Steve,
You posted the RGB curves X 2...The lab version look pretty good...Let me open it and take a closer look...the LAB version looks really good if you want nit picky it might be a touch yellow...the horses neck is just about 3 on the B channel in LAB..Make that 0 and you got it...
For the RGB you can adjust the B channel a bit to get the skin in a better place as well as working on the horses necks...see shot 1.
Remember that color is linked to Brightness in RGB and you can adjust the highlights without messing up the mid-tones...Just have a bit of patience...
