I took this photograph yesterday morning, at Point Lobos, near Monterey, CA. 

This is an area where Edward Weston lived, and took many of his images in the first half of the 20th century.

Tried to keep the detail in the flat sections of the rockface.Took the color out in Lab,then an s curve of sorts in lightness.

After shadow,hightlight,neutral,I used a b channel mask so I didn't changethe sky.

Oh I've not heard of this guy - shame on me.

But lovely to try a B&W for a change - I think it is harder to make a good B&W photo than a colour one (not that I think this shot is better in B&W).

I think I prefer it with a dark background sea - or is the lighter sea better?

BTW - I believe you can edit your posting by clicking on the Modify Message link.  ON my system, this link appears to the right of the message subject.

You are correct Mike, but I couldnt find a way to remove an image, just modify the text.

click on the +Additional Options link on you r old message and you get the option to remove an image.
