Here is what I have done for this image set.
The HDR image is a pre-process of a Nikon Raw file for +/- 2 stops and 1 "normal" so from the same exposure I have made 5 images adjusted for exposure in Camera Raw, then combined them into one HDR image and used the above tool for Post Processing.
The other image is a Curves rendition of the same image.
Opinions are requested....
I know these are Jpg files but the posting limits prevent more than that....
Barry, I will go look at the other program as well thanks!

The HDR seems to have more contrast to it, but sometime they can be a bit over the top. It is interesting that you created you 5 images in the raw converter and not in the camera. Seem to work very well. Was the original taken in raw? Would it work with the original in jpg and put through the converter?
Thanks
Barry

The original is in Nikon RAW (NEF)
I did shoot some in varied exposure at the time but not all. I am playing around with those as well. This is an interesting little program. The one you are looking at is more difficult to use so far...
The one I am looking at has been very straight forward....The tone mapping has been pretty easy and fast....the areas with more contrast also have tons more data in the full sized image for the shadows...it's wierd to look at them this way....I want to find a few images with more drama to see how the program handles them....
I know there is data out there because of the thresholding in CM. It has been interesting to see if there is any need to threshold after the HDR process. So far the images do not benefit from Thresholding after the HDR conversion.
