Greg, I was alarmed to see that your histogram was different than mine. Then I realised that YOUR (not me) backwards. It would be interesting to know how many people use dark left/light left. Anyway here is my shot at the image.
Thanks Joe S

Here is my try at it. I did better than I thought. Played with this a bit more than the other.
Thanks Joe S

To me it just always made sense.  I think it's from my old Color Printing days (RA4) when you had exposure density curves and more density in the negative was darker visually...I always think of it that way exposure density on the negative....

It's sad really...lol  I have not shot film in 5 years....

So here is my effort at number 1 - what I really found interesting in doing this change was how just a small tweek in L can transform the image and change the whole emphasis on the grass.  One can have as little or as much early sun as we like.  I had not thought when I posted this simple image that it could teach one so much.

Oh why do I keep on making the same mistake - again & again - Taking care in one area and ignoring another.
I've blown the trees! and never noticed as I was concentrating on the grass.

Makes my job all the easier...you got to it before I could...GOOD JOB!!!

FWIW, these are really good images to explore.  They can be so different each time you adjust them. Thanks for posting them...

I just had a peek at your bash - and you've blown them too!
Glad I'm in good company.
