I just selected a mask and a mask curve appeared in my curves pane. I wanted to get rid of it so I clicked the mask icon in the toolbar. The image returned to normal (RGB view in this case) but the mask curve was still there. Reset didn't make it go away.
I always assumed Reset would take the CM3 state back to the starting point. Seems masks have some sort of sticky thing where the mask setting isn't reset. Is this intentional?
Should the Reset button clear the mask
There are actually two reset buttons now, one in the mask ribbon that resets just the mask, and another one for the curves. The curve reset button does not affect the curves for the other color modes, and since the mask is shared among them it may not be reasonable to clear the mask just because one curve is being changed.
Let me think about this - and see if there are other opinions - It does seem reasonable for the curve's Reset button to reset everything that might modify the image.

Mike does Ctrl-Z undo 1 change??
Maybe that is the way ouot??
Otherwise the reset should say "reset all" IMHO
Ctrl-Z works with curve edits only. It is not tied in to masks at the moment.
At the moment, I'm going to have the reset button reset the current set of curves only, and leave the masks alone. The masks are shared among all the curves, and have their own reset button.
I'll also add a Reset All to the customizable commands, so that you can at least add it to the toolbar. At some point, not for the next release, the buttons in the curve window will turn into a configurable command bar too, so you can mix and match there too.
