Keep the Ribbon, or lose it?

Thanks, Gloria.  I think the ribbon is here to stay.  I'm surprised at the amount of support, particularly considering that the commands still need to be reorganized.

I've just grabbed 3.0.0.8 and the ribbon's Home panel now looks a lot better. Further thoughts:

* the View panel should be second from left, and should have a hand tool, sampler and magnifying glass (i.e. like the Tools panel on the View ribbon)

* View Options should be next

* Remove the Curves panel - surely those are just settings switches that aren't often used? The space could be better used I suspect (not sure what with yet!)

* does it need to be 3 layers tall? Is 2 a possiblity? There's lots of room horizontally, even on my screen, but vertical space is at a premium.

It's looking much better already, much less intimidating. Obviously the other panels, other than Home, need a bit of work yet.

Good suggestions - I'll probably follow them wholesale.

Putting the ribbon on a diet is a good idea.  I'll see if this is easily possible.
