Help with masks-Gary

I am having a couple of problems here, I find several differences between the screen and the videos and I find the help files are not of much use. Anyway I think I have them all sorted now but I still do not know what to do with the mask after it is all built.

For instance when the mask for  sat the tassels are built how do I get the mask into PS or how do I continue to work in CM as all the curves are now in use, Being a bit slow I am sure it is something dumb that I have missed.

You have to copy the mask to the clipboard in windows using the copy Icon.  Screen shot1. 

Then you have to create a mask layer in PS and paste the mask into it. 
You alt-click on the white mask layer and paste the mask in...shot2

There are times when you can do it in 1 pass with a mask in CM but more often you need to copy the mask...
