Well I just could not get on with Lab - especially had a problem with the near blown tree turning yellow.
I much preferred rgb - and also thought a wee crop would help the composition!

Yes, the foreground is so blown out that it should be ignored from a color correction standpoint. Cropping, is probably the best choice, since bright areas near the edge of an otherwise dark image is considered a defect in composition. Burning in or otherwise darkening the lower edge is another alternative.
