I know this is going to sound obvous but...Are you thinking color opposites? If you want it more Red subtract Cyan. That kind of thing...
Your curves do not look that far afield...It seems like you just need to deceide what you want to do...If you want the reds to pop mark the curve from a red spot and make some small moves. Get a feel for the direction and scale of the changes.
The K channel is pretty important to this image. It really adds contrast and some snap to the colors...
