Does CM3 preview with opacity?

I have an image with 2 layers, one a duplicate of the other. The top layer is set to 0% opacity. I run CM3 on that layer and make an adjustment. The adjustment shows on the CM preview. This doesn't seem right - the preview should show the result, taking into account the opacity of the layer. That's how the PS curves works if you use Image->Adjustments->Curves on a 0% opacity layer - it shows no alteration.

I found this when doing a CM3 adjustment on a 30% opacity layer. I got the CM preview looking right and clicked OK, but the result wasn't as show in the CM3 preview window, which came as a surprise.

Hmmm - sounds like I'm ignoring something I shouldn't be.  I'll take a look at this - thanks.
