the intuition drove me for this one,
I tried, in RGB, to keep the dawn aspect and tried to achieve the best of both "neutrals" I set the neutral in the centre boat and then touched up a bit the red curve to "highlight" the skyline (just a bit) and then I "sloped" the global curve to enhance the contrast

Nice interpretation of the image...The skyline leaves me feeling a bit cold though...I'm wondering if you went too far with the skyline..the sky almost looks purple on my screen...

Your thoughts on that would be helpful....
