LAB mode results look good here especially with the saturation option available.
RGB may be a little duller compared to LAB but this could be adjusted in PS or some other way in CM that I don't know yet.

Good job again..I think you are getting things figured out quite well...

to improve the RGB image to the same level you need to apply a technique we are going to be discussing in the next week or so...the s curve...

Look at the attached image.  try to apply a simular curve to your RGB image and see what you think.
