I worked this one in both RBG and LAB. Result was very similar.
Here's the LAB image. The saturation in the RBG is slightly less.

This image is really about the compromise and you have found a fairly good one...
There are slight shifts in the greys but that is normal for this image and you controlled the mixed lighting pretty well.
