I used wgCMYK to remove the blue cast in the shadow. I used Lab and add a lizard tail to bring out the details of the sand. I increase satuartion to make the sky bluer. I used wgCMYK to give the photo a sunny look.

Is there a flat spot in your curve that corresponds to this area of the image??

The shape of the highlights and shadows areas especially in the transition seems to be "off"  I'm not sure because when I loaded your image the Curve data would not load. 

Did you save the curve??  could you post that??

I didn't save the curves. I remember I steepen the highlight sharply and there was a flat area in the curve of the mid tone! :(

That flat area is probably what is creating the odd tonal values in the sand...especially in the lizard tail part of the curve.

If you want to try to revisit it go ahead...just know that those flat spots can cause you real headaches...
