I've completed example 1, but can't figure out how to post it.  I see the button to insert an image, but don't know what to do once I click it!

Click on the button, and then browse to the image file that you want to include.  When you save your image in Photoshop, use quality setting 5 to keep the image small enough.  The image file, as seen in explorer, should be 180K or less.
