Quite often in the past I tried to find ways to easily sharpen a given area. The worm on the curve was a big help defining that area. This helps even more.

Both images are much improved..the RGB less so but good work anyway...
I find the Contrat pin comes in quite handy...as does the worm....

Greg gets credit for the name "contrast pin", BTW.
Be careful when making the lighter areas have more contrast because the shape of the curve will make the dark parts of the image darker and less contrasty. It helps to add another point afterward to open up the shadows when you do this. Conversely, adding contrast to the shadows will compress the highlights, usually requiring a point to be added to the upper half of the curve
