Frits nailed the fullframe view so the only thing to do was recompose and leane a little shadow on this side of plane

Looks like you nailed the plane real well. I'm not the expert at this but there appears to be a blue cast to the background hills and clouds. Also I don't think the blue sky color is correct (hue clock). I download your image and applied a neutral to the leading edge of the left wing that seemed to help with the blue cast. The blue sky looks a bit off. I'll play some more a bit later in the day and see what I come up with.

Yeah, the sky stinks.I tried to get more blue with grey under but couldn't.I'd also like some more red,not magenta, in the exposed cliff faces in the middle distance.GregM

Greg after you finish in Lab try bringing that version inot RGB or CMYK and see if you can get it where you want it to be...Otherwise maybe a mask...

Greg, I had a hard time reducing the blue. I found a neutral on the leading edge of the wing. That reduced the blue a bit but made the blue sky look off. In the lightness curve I made a reverse S which lightened the plane and emphasized the clouds. I played with the blue until I decided I'd had enough.
Thanks Joe S

I'm not sure I did any better than all of the images I have seen so far but here is my swing at this.

2 passes.

Open the image and apply the HSB curve attached.  I used HSB to open the image up a bit so I did not have such extreme adjustments to the L curve in lab.

Then open the Image again and apply the Lab curve.
Adjusted to reduce but not eliminate the blue in the mesa.  I'm currently not happy with the magenta cast the clouds pick up.

With changes.I also have a version where the sawtoothed shadows in the cliff fce are more pronounced, changing time of day and drawing attention from the plane.GregM
