The .reg file sets the appropriate registry entries to point to the new location.  Perhaps the bravest among you can try it out and post a note here.



Mike,

I have carefully inspected ot hte pins in the correct locaions. Yes thy are there.
Inputting the registry will ot help.
also again reading  in the whole registry, by starting the system will not help.

I think we're close to figuring this one out.  Evidently the .reg file fixes the problem for some people.  I wonder if this is an internationalization issue...

it is possible.
But the working of Curvemeister is in a englisch verion of elements 6.0
so what could be the caurse?

It has to do with the permissions on the shared folders used to hold the pins.  This turns out to be fairly complicated to deal with from the installer, and even harder to debug.  Right now I'm working on today's lesson, and I should have some time to deal with this in the next few days.
