Hmmn?Little problem with hall photo.This is a resize of a huge tiff file from a Nikon scanner.It won't zoom either.Any suggestions.I'm not a computer wiz but I can follow instructions.GregM

can you not just resize the original to say 800-1000 pixels and save that to be under 200K?

Open the original in PS or PSE and use the file >> Save for Web command.  It will tell you that the image is too big but it should work anyway.

I have done this to files that are 30MB or bigger with layers and had no real problems...

There is a slight cast to the first image...you might want to shop around for a better neutral...
You did hold the edge of the water tower so you look pretty good there...it did not get lost in the sky...

Lab will often leave you with a color cast in the whites. 

This is easy to get rid of with a second pass in RGB mode, where you pin the sky to the desired color - white or a hint of blue.  Usually this can be done without unduly affecting the rest of the image, but if necessary add an extra control point or two to bring the rest of the curve back to the diagonal line.

Later in the class we'll use masks to get complete control over the sky alone.

I pushed this one pretty hard, but I think I was able to keep it pretty close to neutral.  I used the shaded white siding of the small structure just above the seawall as a likely neutral.  I don't trust rock - it can be so many shades of non-gray.

Good job on the colors and neutral...again you might want to look at the highlights.
The edge of the water tower disappears into the sky.  I know it's in there and you might want to try to save that detail.
