Here's my shot at improving the image. Set H, S, and N in Lab then did a second pass to take out a slightly redish cast. Maybe I overdid the contrast a bit?

A little too far on killing the Red. Try brightening the image overall and finding a different neutral. You just might like the results...

Thanks for your comments. One question -- how do you adjust image brightness without affecting contrast without using the color wizard? I'm still struggling how to make corrections quickly in CM to handle a large volume of pictures -- your tips this week have been really useful.

There is a brightness slider in the wizard as shown in the RGB wizard (see Greg1.jpg)
You can also turn off the wizard if you like and pull the middle of the composite curve as shown in Greg1
BTW I used your image for the screen shot and adjustments
