The neutral I picked was the white water. I experimented trying different points in the stream. Then I picked H and S points.

This image points out one of the problems with RGB color space. The saturation can be missing after the SHN adjustment. When you set a neutral you force the curves to make that point to be neutral and that pulls color out of the image in other areas to make that happen. So while the image has "a neutral" it sometimes gives up saturation to get it.
Take a pass at the image in LAB using the same SHN and then crank up the saturation.....
