Here is my try. After correcting with "a mask" (best mask) in Lab I got a reddish Shadow cast in greys and white. Tried to correct it in a second pass by setting neutral. Also tried to desaturated more  but then the gold started to disappear. So this is kind of a compromise.

The real "trick" to getting the tassels right is to open up the mask a little so that the "reddish" glow is also included.  There is a point where the mask does this well.  Your image get pretty close though...
