Good morning
This morning I awoke to 4 inches of fresh new snow....and a problem....
See if you can figure out which problem was more difficult. The snow removal or the color correction....

You might be tired of your snowfall but I wouldn't mind some right now. Our weather has been rather warm.

Maybe three problems in the picture?
1) Picture itself?
2) Rust (has shaft loosened?)
3) Wet snow, means heavy!

Here is a fix to 1). Done withe BTN correction and extra contrast curve i Lab.
Who will fix the other issues?

3) The snow was actually very light and fluffy..I almost went for the high contrast texture photo but thought better of it...
2) My 20 Year old shovel has loads of character and 3 handles in it's lifetime...
1) not too bad of a correction but the highlights are a bit to far...BTN was a great choice for this image...But...you clipped the highlights...

I had to go back and do a blu-ectomy,we''ll see how it transmits.Top picture has 20 amount,20 radius sharpening.The rust reminds me of my snowblower.

believe it or not you are very close...
The solution is to take the second image into LAB and make 2 small adjustments....

I agree it was bit overexposured. Did it in the end with contrast curve:( Could I have redone it?
Here is a new try. Had to compromise a bit.

I see some odd green in the shovel mixed in with the browns...
This one is about compromise...see if you can find a spot where the snow looks reasonable yet the shovel keeps it's color.

I made a mistake and thought snow should be balanced. Seems shaft is best neutral and some warm light in picture. Took my previous picture and tried to adjust it.

It's quite alright Thomas...

You might want to start over rather than try to salvage the image from here..it is getting pretty mixed up...
