#3 of 4.  Tried my hand at an RGB correction on this one, and liked the result better than the Lab version.

Brian,
You might be over thinking this one.

There is no real neutral in the image. 
Some things to remember: grass, leaves and other green plants are more yellow than blue. 
The petal details are in flowers and need to be preserved.  The darkest parts of the image can go all the way to black if you feel like it.

Remember significant Shadow and Highlight Details should always be preserved.  What is significant??  That really is a subjective decision but if the image is about flowers they should look their best.

Better?  This is a Lab correction. I tried to concentrate on pulling as much detail as I could out of the petals, and pumping in more yellow.

The rest would come down to personal choice on the tonality.
