Could you explain an "inverted mask". How do you invert a mask?

an inverted mask is turning everything on the mask from white to black.  It is useful for allowing or blocking on the same item...for instance you might want to allow something on 1 layer but block it on another for the same object in the frame...  If you lay the two masks over each other it would be all black.

There are 2 certain ways to do this...
1 is to rotate the mask curve until it flips over past the center.
The other is to click the invert mask button on the mask menu....
