I used the histogram as shown in the notes. Where did the pink go? I did sharpen a bit for the final image

As you change the highlight the color cast in the brightest areas will appear to diminish...the value of the pixels will change as you adjust and the color will fade some...check the hue clocks and see if it is still there only brighter...
