Greg,
This is my attempt at contrast pinning. I tried to be aware of not overdoing it but I'm not sure I went quite far enough.
I then went back into lab and used threshold and put a neutral on the dogs nose. The tongue was really bugging me and I attempted to make it less purple. i dont own a dog but I'm sure it should't be that colour. I forgot to save the screen page and if I knew how to use one of the smiley faces I would add the embarressed one in here. Anyway , I think I have made the tongue better but maybe there is too much yellow in the fur? I also sharpened a bit.
Julie

PS Now I can see both images I think there is not enough yellow or maybe not enough saturation.

PSS I added some more saturation but its still not there. It looked more saturated in elements. time to walk away I think.

Dog Plus saturation looks better...I would say that you can always push it a bit...then come back until it looks real...
The tongue is an interesting problem...Purple is really a form of blue...you might try tweaking it out of the B curve...
