I had a little trouble pinning the lower left or upper right.  First, I did it with no pin.  Second with a pin. 

I ended up just manually pinning.

Sorry, I did not do the K fade idea.  I just did the opacity.  Also I added some shadow highlights.'

Nicely done....

On your original did you lose any details in the bright areas??  That is the real trap for this image...
