this is my lab attempt.
First I did the shadow highlight neutral and saturation. I then used the hue clocks to get a good look at the colour. IMy screen shot only sows one channel sorry.
I saved and then went back into lab and tried to get the neutrals more neutral. I know i could have gone to rgb but decided for the sake of the exercise to do it all in lab.
I tried to use the numbers as well as the colour in the hue clocks. this is as close as I could get it to neutral
now i have looked at it maybe i could have tried to lighten the shadows a little particuarly the interesting bark on the tree

Julie,
The LAB version look solid...maybe a slight bump to the orange in the tiger by making both an A and B curves adjustment.
See screen shot and try loading the ACV I have as well. Use your image and load my ACV.
Since Orange is red and yellow you need to pin the blue and green down so it does not shift...
