Hello.
I used the Man of Mars Technique on the Pagoda of Five Concubines example. Basically, I saturated enough to bring out brilliant color, created the K mask without black and adjusted the mask. What do you think of this image?
Thank you
David
Week 6 - Example 2 - Pagoda of Five Concubines - Man of Mars Technique
David,
The color is not over done which is easy to do in this image....
now for the But....
But, The shadows are quite green and need some help...Also as long as you are going into the image again there is more detail in the shadows that you can bring out with a slight Lizard tail adjustment to the L channel. It almost looks like you forgot to set a shadow and highlight threshold on the image.
S/H/N is always a good starting point...It will give you the full image range and remove most of the color problems...

Hello.
I decided to take another try at this image. I set the shadow and the neutral, however, there was no obvious highlight. I then applied the K mask and adjusted it. It looks to like like the greenish cast is a lot better. What do you think?
Thank you
David

Hello.
I decided to play with the Man of Mars Technique and this image some more. Rather than setting a neutral and making a more realistic image; I decided to take the approach of your solution video and use Pin a Point on the red "house". I may have over-saturated but I wanted to emphasize the effect. What do you think of this image?
I then decided to keep the image above (first screenshot) and add a shadow and neutral; this looks more realistic than the first one. What do you think of it?
I Pin a Point to the Curve by holding down the CTRL Key and Click with the mouse. For other options such as Set Shadows and New Sample Point (ALT-Click) I can right click on the mouse anywhere on the image and select from the options (see mouse screenshot below), however, I cannot find an option for Pin a Point to Curve - am I missing it? I personally, like to set the points by moving around the image and clicking with the mouse and then selecting the option.
Thank you
David
