Hello.

I performed corrections to Example 8 in both Lab and RGB.  I, once again, prefer the Lab version.  In the Lab version the wood looks better.

Please give  me your advice on these images.

Off topic - unfortunately we are having cold and bad weather in the Pennsylvania area which has greatly increased my bone pain.  Additionally, I pulled by shoulder last week.  Needless to say, this may limit my access to the remainder of the class, however, I will try to keep up and complete this course.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well...You can finish the class at your pace.  We'll keep moving but I always answer questions from the weeks past...Not a problem posting late....

Re: your images...The RGB is closer to the truth...Did you try the multiple neutrals trick?  it is a real eye opener...Just set a neutral on three areas that are light dark and medium that you think should be neutral...then move the point on one color channel and see what happens....

The LAb image looks good but it is a bit cold....(Cyan)

Hello.

Thank you for your understanding regarding my medical difficulties.  For the time being, I plan on trying to keep up with the class.  I am taking Prednisone which seems to be helping.  I will keep you informed as my condition changes.

Back to you course, I decided to try Example 8 again, however, this time with two neutrals.  The result was a little different.  What do you think?

I'm betting that you struggled with this one because the neutrals were too close together in tone.  It is still too yellow....

Remember that a neutral can be any brightness.  From White to Black so long as the RGB channels are equal.  For this to work correctly you have to have more than 20 points between the neutrals.  I would say 30 as a starting point...
