This is an attempt.  I did too many control points.  Worked too hard.  I was on an interesting (??) conference call, and while listening I did a little "work".

Perhaps I lightened it up too much.

I think a bit more contrast is needed overall but the RGB in the middle is a lot of work for little return....

It is indeed too light as well...
