Hello.
Example 6 was another difficult image. Whenever I adjusted the image it seemed that the statue looked better but the background looked worse. I suspect a mask would have worked good here. I did, however, try to make an adjustment using Lab. Unfortunately, I never saw the Statue of Liberty in person so I am guessing that the statue has a greenish color.
Again, how would I determine a neutral for this image?
Please give me your comments.
Thank you
David
CM Week 1 Example 6
David,
I will agree that this is a tricky image but I have never seen an over cast sky that is green unless there is a storm nearby...While the sky might not be gray...it certainly should not be Green.
Shot1 shows your image with hue clocks...
Shot two is a LAB adjustment that removes the green from the sky by moving only the ends of the A and B curves slightly...
Since the sky is green start by adding red..move the red end of the A channel toward the center a few points and watch the numbers on the hue clocks. then add some Blue by using the same process for the blue side of the B channel...
Us the arrow keys after clicking in the corner to select the end points.

Hello
I tried Example 6, the Statue of Liberty, again. When I looked at the photo again, I noticed the greenish colors better. I did not use the saturation slider as much because, I believe this intensified the green. What do you think of the image this time?
Thank you
David
