Working in LAB, I set the shadow, highlights and neutral and increased slightly the saturation.

Overall the tone is good...the neutral needs a bit of help...

The shadows and mid-tones are blue/cyan.  Try to find a better neutral and see if you can help out the image...
Good job on the tone...

Yes, I see what you mean. Is there any rule concerning how close a and b should be to zero for eliminating a color cast?

0,0 would be the neutral but 0.-0;-0,-0;-1,0 might pass muster.GregM.

In general I shoot for 0,0 as Greg Said...

I would probably give you a pass up to 0,3 on either side...
