Hi together,

here is my first try with the lab curves (and after open the shadows).
The yellow of the stones and in the grass are so near to the yellow of the house, that both depends each other.
I tried to stretch that close points too, but also don't look like what I search.
Grass still looks unnatural.

I hate to do this Tanja but I think I want you to start over....

Process it this way....

1) Shadow, Highlight, Neutral....
2) Open the shadows under the dock slightly
3) Saturation

Correct a color problem.

Do not over think this image as you might be tempted to make it harder than it really is...

This is the easier way, but without the color correction in lab.
That's why it's easier for me  ;D
Mabe to green?

One more try, but still with mask in ps...

Don't be afraid of the colors...

They won't hurt you...just control them and they will help you out...
When I saturate the image you have posted it looks quite nice...find a correction with more saturation, and then control the greens and you will have this one done...

Hi Greg,

this is a little bit like a culture break.
In germany the "wave" goes more to desaturated colors in the "underground", but shows up in "offical" too.
But it's good to be between. Feels like schizophrenic, but sometimes this is not that bad.
Some years ago, I recognize that there are totally different mixes in music productions for US and Europe.
Still thinking about this difference and why it is.
I try with more color tomorrow. This was acually my "overdone and then a little bit back".
Is this funny or what?  :D

I would ask you what color you see out the window?  is it muted or real??

If color all over Europe is muted...I don't want to visit again...

At the moment, it's muted. We don't see much sun since month.
All waits for the spring, which not want to come.
Hm, this could be the reason for the difference of "color-feelings". More bad weather.
When you visit Europe, you better go to Spain or Italy  ;)

A friend of mine visit the US last year for a phototour. Forget the excacly place, but he told that there were totally different light. All here, who see that pictures, told him: "Come on, too much colorboost in ps", but he does'nt boosted anything.


Oh, this is interesting: More of the cold colors on the Montaray picture, looks exaptable to me, but I had to flatten the warm tones for my taste.

Living in England I understand very well what Tanja is saying. Here, as in mainland Europe, it's almost continuously cloudy and grey many months of the year. In this scene saturated colours look unrealistic to me because I think the colour of the objects can only be a reflection of the light that falls on the object, which in this case is very very grey. So how can it have vivid colours?
