Honestly,

I shot this image under cloudy bright conditions.  The layer of clouds you see is fog being pushed into the coast and the bright blue sky behind me as the photographer brightened the scene considerably.  Visually it was bright and colorful.  Out of the camera...another story....

That is the beauty of CM.  I can restore the image to it's visual impact.

Interesting -- hadn't thought of that: grey fog in front + bright blue sky behind.

Wow look at all the color and variation...Cool!

I might tone it down about 10% on the layer but that is about all...
