Freeze/crash on deleting a highlight/shadow point

When I delete a previously set highlight point CM (and thus Photoshop) freezes. Is this something that is forbidden to do? I can delete other points on a curve without any problems.

I use CM 3,0,8,0 and CS3 10.0.1 on a XP machine that is reasonably new.

Can you access the beta area of the downloads page??  if you can you could try 3.0.12

Did that already but used 11. No problem so far! Maybe I should try 12 right away.
