Mike,
There is a bug in the saturation slider of LAB.

When you click on the right arrow to increase saturation the curves rotate flatter and saturation drops.  Click on the Left arrow and the saturation increases.  Also the scale of the adjustment is way off a single click makes the scale jump huge.

Concur with that - the saturation slider is totally broken!
