Greg,
I don't have any Visual studio stuff running that I know of.
I believe I followed the instructions to turn off UAC, then downloaded and installed the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package , then installed CM (version 16). It seems to work fine on my system now.
I might have downloaded and installed the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package first then turned off UAC, then loaded CM. ( I'm pretty sure I turned off UAC first.)
Hope that helps.
Gus

Many thanks to Gus - I have now loaded Curvemeister successfully on Windows 7 64-bit, after loading the 2008 version of the Visual C++ distributable (64 and 32-bit versions).
I had the 2005 version only - looks like this is something you have to load yourself - Windows update won't find it for you.
cheers,
Mark

Just looking over the other threads here, and Mike does advise loading the 2008 Microsoft C++ files (and has the location), in the thread http://www.curvemeister.com/forum/index.php/topic,2540.0.html on version 3.0.15 (32-bit).
So duh-uh! for me. ::)
However, I did manage to load 3.0.15 on my back up PC (Win 7 64 bit), running CS3, with the 2005 set of C++ files, which may have set me off on the wrong track.

What I remember with your system, Greg, is that you need to turn off UAC temporarily.
There's not a lot in the way of leftovers - if the 8bf file is in the Filters folder, and the ocx file is registered, you should be ready to roll. Of course, "should" generally means "doesn't". Let me know if that does the trick.
