This is another harmless bug someone brought up--
If you run your cursor over any of the masks aside from Skin in the preview window, the curves readings reflect the composite image. If you do this on the skin mask, it seems to reflect the mask itself. Skin isn't a channel,true; but does it have special powers? I should probably go find this question--I hope I didn't miss an explanation.

This might be a version of Greg's "giant worm" bug.  Skin is implemented internally as an inverted filter, and I think the two bugs are related.

sorry...but you have made me laugh out loud too..the explanation to my wife was very convoluted...I had to have her read a few threads to get her to understand...
