Mike,
When I right click on the image and choose "mark"  the inverted triangle is not showing on the RGB curves.  In the attached screen shot there are 2 "marks"  I should see two inverted triangles right?? or is it the catepillar that gets left behind??

This was on purpose.  I can add it back pretty easily if you think it's useful.  The logic was that since it's easier to tell the color of the worm, it's easier to associate the sample point with the marker, so the marker is not needed as much.

I decided against marking the RGB curve, because I was concerned about cluttering up the RGB curve. If  you think it would be useful I can put it back.

BTW - these screen shots are great - much easier to tell what you're referring to.

Hmm..interesting...
I'm so used to the marker...It is nice to see the range of the adjustment on the Curve....

Keep it like it is unless it's unworkable..
More to learn...
