Huh. I just converted the same file that just crashed the program to 8-bit, and opened CM. The program opened, but the image was blank--just a white file.
Okay, I just clicked once on the RGB icon on the top left of the image, and three layered b&w versions appeared!
I clicked on the CMYK icon, and the program crashed.
I opened everything again, and realized I had two open layers on the PS file, a clone layer and a hue/sat layer. Are images supposed to be flattened before opening CM?
Anyway, flattened and 8 bit works again :)
